Axle Sports joins the EEWC

Axle Sports was founded by Alex Yoong in 2008 and is also one of Asia’s oldest Simracing teams. Alex Yoong is also known as Malaysia’s premier Formula One driver and three times Audi R8 LMS Cup winner. Axle Sports is highly experienced in Endurance Simracing and has been part of the Simracing communities for years and have been running their Driver Academy and talent developments. Axle Sport is one of those teams that have shown great results and continuous developments in Asia and Globally.

Axle Sports is a team that consists of some of Asia’s most talented drivers. The team will be joining the DPI class for the remainder of Endurance eRacing World Championship season at Spa Francorchamps and LeMans — both races which are 24 hours long and we look very much forward to see the team competing against teams such as Satellite Racing, Viadukten, and Omicron Racing.

The first driver introduced is Mika Hakimi which is a Championship leader in HME F1 and has been part of the Virtual Le Mans, and also a real-world Toyota GR Malaysia Factory Driver. The second driver of the team is Naquib Azlan — which is E1 Champion and Virtual Le Mans Driver and also a Toyota GR Factory Driver. The third driver is Josh Purwien — which is a Mclaren Shadow Asia Pacific Champion and finally, the fourth driver is Mikko Nassi — which is a Skip Barber iRacing Champion.

A team that definitely will deliver some great racing in the DPI class and some needed competition it deserves. We welcome Axle Sports to the series with their entry and look forward to the interviews, their driving, and finally their stories to cover.
